High Performance Building

Two things really distinguish Jim and Nunzie from other Bend, Oregon builders: One, is their passion for researching, salvaging and placing authentic materials into homes. The other is their respect for the environment by finding ways to reuse natural resources and recycling construction waste that’s generated.

Here’s an example of how they were able to reuse unwanted materials and create a work of art:

Inspired by work done in 1902 by the renowned Greene and Greene Brothers, the beautiful carved cedar mantel (below) comes from reclaimed cedar snags (above) from Southern Washington lost in a forest fire. The wood was sawn then chiseled by a local Bend artist, for a unique and timeless design.
